Wald- und Wasserwesen (Panoramic Photobook)

Wood and water are places of calm and renewal. Yet those who lose their way in the depths of the forest, or stray too far from the shore, suddenly find themselves alone — surrounded only by creatures of the wood or the water. Self-chosen independence turns into unwanted solitude.

"Wald- und Wasserwesen" ("Beings of Wood and Water") portrays this ambivalent relationship between humans and nature in evocative black-and-white panoramic photographs. The series was exhibited in 2026 at the Galerie im Rathaus, Eppingen (Germany).

Adrian Schaub's images have been shown worldwide in solo and group exhibitions and honored in international competitions. His central theme is Solitude — the two facets of being alone: independence or loneliness. His technical guiding principle is "Reduce to the Max": black-and-white, simple, and authentic. The images are AI-free: nothing appears in them that was not already present on the analog or digital negative.
